Q1.   Why is it that many videographers are priced so differently?

As with any profession, there are many skill levels. Talent, great equipment, experience level and passion are just some of the reasons you experience different pricing levels. Filming time, editing time, and optional features such as "Cinematic" Music Segments can all add to your final cost.

Q2.   How should we go about choosing the best videographer for us?

Choosing the best videographer is based on many factors, but to simplify this answer we will focus on the quality of the finished product.

You have to choose a videographer in the same way you choose a photographer. You should view a demo of there work and decide if what you see amazes you. The shooting and editing style you see in the demo should allow you to feel the moment along with the Bride you are watching

Videography in it's basic form captures your day as it happened "live".  "Cinematic" filming, combined with advanced editing, allows you to experience your day in a way that is nothing short of breathtaking.

Q3.    How long does it take to create a  finished edited video?

The amount of time to edit and finish your video  will depend on the package level you choose. Our most basic package may take approximately 12 hours of studio time. If you choose a package that includes more extensive editing, studio time can be as long as 50 hours.

At the beginning of the season (January - April) it may only take 4 - 6 weeks to complete. Toward the end of the season (September, October) it may extend to 12-16 weeks.

Q4.    We are nervous about being filmed, how can we look our best on film?

The best way to look great on film is to relax and be yourself. As with great photography, a videographer has to know the best angle to shoot at all times. Lighting, distance, framing etc, all have a great effect on the final outcome.

The other aspect to great filming is to never look at or acknowledge the camera. When watching television, notice how the actors never look directly at the camera. The result makes you feel as if you are there with them, and gives the appearance that you are watching it from a different angle or another persons eyes. In short, simply ignore the presence of your videographer and your video will look amazing.

Q5.   Why do videographers consider a wedding video to be an investment?

At first glance, along with every other aspect of your wedding, a video may appear to be just another expense. But we are proud to point out some great reasons why it will be an investment for both of you.

1. The most important reason is that you get a finished custom product that you will keep and use many times. Lets compare your wedding video to some other true expenses of your wedding day...

Flowers....Flowers are beautiful, but if flowers were an investment  you would not only get your wedding day package, but the florist would deliver a fresh bouquet every week for the rest of your life.

Food....The meal has to be great, but if the meal was an investment your package would include dinner for your guests, and then once a week the same chef would show up at your house and cook you an entire meal free of charge.

Limo's....If transportation was an investment, each morning you would find the same driver and car waiting for you when you leave for work, and then pick you up to bring you home.

Cake....It would be great if a mini version of your wedding cake would just show up each week at your door step reminding you of that amazing moment when you fed each other.

These are just some of the reasons you hear brides comment after their wedding day that their best "investment" was the videographer.

2.  When you look back, you will have few ways of reminding yourself of how amazing that one day in your life was. Video places you back in the moment. You will hear, feel, laugh, cry, and stare in amazement. Your day has motion and time, it flows and changes pace, it has emotion and atmosphere. Video is the perfect medium to capture the essence of what you planned so many months to create.

Q6.    How long in length will my finished video be?

An average video will last between 1 and 2 hours. The overall length will depend on your package and the features you choose.

Packages that include extensive "Cinematic" music pieces will include both "Live" video and edited music segments. Live video is when you see video and hear the "live" audio along with it. "Cinematic" music segments are short video clips, highly edited with slow motion, color enhancements, etc, to match a specific piece  of music.

Since the introduction of DVD authoring and technology, it is no longer a negative if your video has any specific length to it. You can simply jump to any chapter by simply hitting next on your remote. Like a movie, you can also choose a chapter from the main menu.

Q7.  When booking my package, how do I know which videographer will be filming on my wedding day?

This is an easy one since I only book myself as the main videographer on any given day. With some packages, I may bring and assistant to help set up and transport equipment, but I will be the main videographer and editor for your finished video.

Like photography, you choose a video package based on a specific persons ability to create a look you really want. To be sure I can recreate the exact style and quality  you view on my demo, I only book one wedding per day so I can be there to film it. It is very difficult to train a second person to film with the same eye for detail or creativity. Even other videographers that are equal in quality will have a different feel and flow to their final product.

The only time a different person would film would be in the event that I was sick or hurt beyond my ability to work.  I would then pay a qualified professional videographer to take my place. You would be informed ahead of time and you would be in contact with my replacement so you feel comfortable with them on your wedding day.

Q8.   What happens if my finished video gets damaged and no longer plays?

Our policy is to create and keep a master copy of your finished video complete with printed cases. I can simply make a copy at any time of your master and then duplicate the printed  covers to send you a new copy.
